Week 35

Last weekend Eric and I did some more work on the nursery.  We patched and painted the holes from the wall achors of the bookshelves that were previously in the room.  However, the paint didn't quite dry as expected- it's a little dark- so now we have dark spots all over the room.  We will have the paint lightened and try again next weekend.  Here are a few pics- we still have letters to hang and maybe a quote over the window- but it's getting there.

The other exciting event for this week is the doctor's appointment.  She wanted to do a sonogram to see his position and growth.  He is growing big- showing az 5lb 10oz already (but those estimates are frequently large). His head is measuring at 37 weeks so lots of brain development going on!  The best news is that he is head down.  For the last month or so, I could have sworn that he was sideways- so I was worried about him turning.  She wants to start seeing me weekly now so I will be a frequent visitor to the office.

Week 34

SO I'm now in the 34th week of pregnancy and feel like I am getting bigger and bigger every day. Things are coming along nicely, but it seems we still have so much to do. This weekend Eric and I were able to find a nightstand for the nursery that matches the other furniture PERFECTLY!  It was an amazing find. I realize you are not supposed to be "matchy matchy" but it looks great!  We also found a rug!  It is kiwi green to coordinate with the bedding.  The seamstress just called tonight to say that the bedding is finished so I'm going to pick it up tomorrow.  I'm so excited to see it.  I will be posting some pictures soon, but the room is not quite ready for its big debut!  We are also in the process of organizing all of our wonderful gifts that we've received from showers and this weekend's task is to wash some of the newborn clothes and blankets.  Well- let me know how I'm doing on the blog and whether I should keep going or throw in the towel already!

Am I ready to BLOG?

Hopefully the answer is yes- because here I go! I decided to finally start leaning to blog so that friends and family can stay up-to-date easily with the developments of our growing family. I have enjoyed following some friends' blogs because I can easily see what is going on- without having to call and "check up" on them! It's a little like spying- except they don't mind. Anyway, my friend Ashlee is coming this weekend so I'm hoping she will be able to help snazz it up a little and give me some tips on how to be most effective. Until then, be patient with me!
