Caiden's book exchange

A few weeks ago we got a letter in the mail from a friend that was for a book exchange for our kids. At first I was skeptical, thinking it was like a chain letter that would never continue. I decided to participate because I am a book lover and all it was asking me to do is send one book to the first name on the list. How can you go wrong buying one book for a sweet little thing? I went ahead, added Caiden's name and made copies and sent them out to my friends. I really didn't anticipate receiving any books, but I have been surprised! Caiden has already received 6 packages of books from people all over! I'm so happy that my friends and their friends are as eager as I am to share the love of reading with our children. Here is a pic of the books he's received so far.

Update: Caiden has received three more books since I posted last!

Swim lessons- Water Baby 3

Caiden is in his third session of swim classes at Aqua Kids in Flower Mound. By the end of this session in May, I won't be in the water anymore- Yikes!  You might remember that my friend Ashlee visited last weekend and stayed through Monday morning so she was able to go to our swim class with us. I was so excited to have her get some pictures of Caiden in class. I'm posting just a few pictures of the highlights. Ashlee took 254 pictures during the 30 minute class so I had to narrow them down a bit :) Gotta love a friend that understands how much I love pictures!

This sonogram picture is supposed to be showing his "boy parts". If you can figure it out, more power to you! I can't ever figure out what I'm looking at in these things. We are excited for Caiden to have a little brother! Now I can start planning a nursery a little better!



Be Mine!

We had a great Valentine's Day yesterday. Over the weekend, while my friend Ashlee visited, we made some Valentine goodies for Caiden's teachers at church and my Bible study friends. Thanks to Pinterest for the idea!

Eric got me this delish chocolate cake and some beautiful roses, and Caiden got me an Elmo balloon!So sweet!  I couldn't ask for more!

20 weeks

How far along? 20 weeks, 1 days

How big is the baby? The size of a banana

Are you in maternity clothes? Wearing maternity pants, some maternity shirts (since they are longer and cover up the stretchy waist of the maternity pants!)

Stretch marks? Nope, but I'm REALLY itchy!

Sleep? Still sleeping fine, right now

Miss anything? cold deli sandwiches, summer sausage, soda

Feeling movement of the baby? feeling some kicks or punches and sometime my belly makes a weird shape and I think the baby is rolling?

Food cravings? Tator tots, salty foods

Gender of the baby? we'll find out in less than 24 hours!  Can't wait!

Mood? Anxious about the sono tomorrow!

First Nursery Purchase

I'm so excited to have made my first purchase for Baby 2's nursery. I know it's still plenty early, but I've been itching to buy this since November 2010! Way back before I was even thinking about a second child, I visited my friend in Houston and she had the cutest art on the wall of her nursery. Best of all it was in SPANISH!  They were number wall cards that she had mounted and framed. I wish I had a picture of it for you. So I fell in love with them and found the vendor on Etsy and they have alphabet cards too!

I just love the natural colors and the art of the pictures. The company is Children Inspire Design and you can find the Etsy store at http://www.etsy.com/shop/ChildrenInspire?ref=seller_info. There is a bunch of beautiful artwork and they have prints in English, Spanish, French, Italian, German and Swedish!

 Once I found out I was expecting I started thinking about them again and decided to use them as my "inspiration piece" for the nursery. I'm not quite sure yet how I'm going to display them. They are 5x7 so I might frame them or might do something similar to another friend.  She has some different alphabet cards mounted on painted canvases in her playroom.

Hers are 8x10 and she has a much larger wall to display them on than we will have in the nursery.  But I think I could use the idea on a smaller scale.

Anyway, I can't wait for them to arrive and start picking out some fabrics that coordinate!

Valentine Cookies

Yesterday , Caiden and I went to a Valentine Cookie Decorating Party. My little Valentine was so handsome!

He gave us some nice music.

And of course, enjoyed his cookie he decorated!

And then he stole a kiss!

We actually were able to get all of the kids sitting on the couch for a pic!
