You might have seen my previous post about my Silhouette Portrait aka the "Mighty Machine". So I'm posting some of my projects in different categories so that you can get an idea of what all this crazy machine is capable of. If you're not interested in crafts, this post is not for you :)
So these projects are some of my paper crafting.

Caleb's first birthday: part 1

I think all birthdays should have multiple parts :)  We celebrated Caleb's actual birthday day with our Stroller Strides friends. Caleb and his birthday buddy, Liam, were actually celebrating together.

(BTW, that's fruit on his chin, not another gash)

I'm not sure if he actually touched the candle, or if I scared him when I shouted "no"!

He was better once he got his cupcake :)

We are so thankful to have great Stroller Strides friends!

Caleb- 12 months

-Weight: 19 pounds
-Length: 29"
-Diapers: size 3
-Clothes: 12 month clothes

- Sleeping: About the same as before: Daytime sleep- if we are home he will take a good morning nap about 45 min- 1.5 hours.  In the afternoon, most days he will take a nap around 1:00, most days it's 30 min or less, but occasionally I will get an hour our of him. Nighttime sleep is wonderful. From 6:30pm- 6:30 or 7.

-Eating: He's still a good eater. Three full meals and two snacks. At each meal he is eating 8+ ounces of baby food. He's decided he LOVES Goldfish crackers. He's nursing 3 times a day and since we've added cow's milk I'm trying to cut back to nursing only morning and nighttime.

milestones:
  • signs for "eat", sometimes "please"and "more/mas"
  • is walking... and walking... and walking some more

Other notes:

  • still only has 2 teeth! poor kid, needs some chompers soon!
  • loves to play in the water and be outside!
  • He HATES to get dressed. It's like a wrestling match for me.
  • He is so content as long as he is walking on his own. Don't try to hold him down or make him sit still- especially for a picture.
  • He took a fall on the eve of his birthday and got a nice gash on the bridge of his nose.  :(
Here's the final picture in his monthly ties

Texas Bluebonnets

Every spring the Bluebonnets (the Texas state flower) comes into bloom and fill the fields with beautiful color. It is very common for people here to plop their kids in a patch of these flowers for some awesome pictures. Of course, we had to take part. My awesome photg Lindsey Rabon hosted a special sitting for the moms in Plum Moms Club.  Here's how ours turned out!  PS- these were taken reight before they got haircuts, so the boys are a little on the shaggy side!)

Memorial Day 2013

Grandpa Doug and Grandma LeAnn made the long trip from Iowa to celebrate Memorial Day with us!  We had lots of fun walking around Southlake Town Center and the Ft. Worth Zoo. Usually they bring the rain with them, but for this visit it was nice and sunny!

Caleb's First Haircut

Caleb got his first haircut on May 19th (Yes, I know that was a month ago, but I'm really behind on blogging!)  He did so well- I think he remembered seeing Caiden get his haircut so it was no big deal!

Cool car, funky hair!

Cape on, snack in hand, ready to go!

Ta Da!  So handsome!

Caiden's End of YCW Preschool year 1

To refresh your memory, Caiden attended Young Children's World (YCW) preschool at our church on Thursday's this year. He loved it every time even though we continued to have dificulties at drop-off. I can't believe how much he learned!  At the end of the year, they have a spring show. This year's theme was Rockin' the Armor of God (with a 50's flair). I'm not sure if Caiden really understood he was going to be in a show. Beforehand, I was asking him if they were learning songs to perform and he never really said much about it. Turns out, he was not a fan of performing (he gets that from his daddy). He had this scowl on his face THE WHOLE TIME!  I couldn't stop laughing- I was almost crying! I have a zillion more pics, but they are all about the same face!

And in case you want to see him in action.

Moving on to the smiles I adore on this boy....

Here's a first day and last day comparison.  (I know, same shirt, different color. They were on sale!)

And here he is with his sweet teachers Ms. Jill and Ms. Pam. I sure do hope they move up and teach the 3s next year!

Mother's Day 2013

We celebrated a nice Mother's Day this year!  (Not that it hasn't been nice in past years) It was beautiful weather and the boys spoiled me!

On Saturday we went out for a nice dinner at La Hacienda Ranch

Sunday, we went to church and then had a nice picnic at the park. Eric grilled some hot dogs while I played with the boys.

And of course, nice gifts for me!

The nursery at church made these for the moms!

Roses from the hubs and boys

Gifts Caiden made at school and Sunday Bible class
